Könnt ihr bitte mal sagen was ihr von meinem Host letter haltet?

Könnt ihr bitte kommentieren?

Dear family,
First of all I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend a year in the United States of America. This has been a dream of mine for a very long time and I am so happy that it is finally coming true.
My name is Julius; I am a 16-year-old boy living in Bad Soden, which is a quite small city in the area of Frankfurt. That is in the middle west of Germany. Since my birth I have been living here. When I was young primary school was only a few steps away, now my school is still near to me. I just have to cycle about two miles every morning to get there. I really like my family. My mother is perfectly organized and knows something funny to say at every time, while my sister is, although she is 19 years old, still always fun to play with. Of course we argue sometimes, but we are never mad at each other for long. I spend a lot of time together with my mother and my sister. We are playing games, going to the cinema or visiting friends. My sister loves to cook and we are enjoying the food she is preparing almost every day, after that my mother and I wash the dishes. In general my sister and I are helping my mother a lot in the household since my father died. That was six years ago when I was ten. I just finished primary school and it was hard for me at first to deal with that. But especially my family helped me. At this time I mentioned how important for me my family is, not just my mother and my sister, but also all my cousins, uncles, aunts and grandparents.
In school I have always done quite well. My favorite subjects are sciences, like Mathematics, Physics or Chemistry, but also Physical Education, which is the only kind of sport in school. I choose English and Latin as languages and took part in a student exchange program two years ago. It was a great experience and it encouraged my wish to spend a whole year abroad. Together with other pupils of my school we went to Solihull near Birmingham in Great Britain. It was a fun to attend school there and a few weeks later some British students stayed at our place.
School is out at about 3 o’clock and there are not much extracurricular activities you can do, so most of the pupils join some kind of sports club. I have been playing soccer for about ten years now and I really enjoy it. I am the goalkeeper of my team for a few years now. If I do not have to go to training after school I spend most of my free time together with friends. We play, do other sports, like squash or swimming, or just go outside when the weather is good. I also like to read, surf in the internet or just relax when there is nothing else to do. I am Roman Catholic and I attend service more occasionally than regularly. I am an altar server as well and the thing I like about religion is that everyone is part of a big community. To my mind that is one of the most important aspects.
The decision of going abroad for a year had many reasons. First of all I love to travel, I have spent holidays in many different countries in Europe. Most times together with my family, but sometimes alone with friends. I like to get to know different cultures. I also was inspired by my sister. She went to Wichita in Kansas for one year when she was at my age. She made a lot of good experiences and I got the idea to stay a year in the USA myself from her. I am especially curious about the USA, because you think you get to know the USA a lot through movies, books or TV, but I want to see it all myself to make my own experiences. At the moment I am really excited that I will leave in summer. For me that is a dream coming true. I am an open-minded person. Friends say I am someone that you can trust and rely on. I like to try out and to learn a lot of new things and get into talk with people.
After returning to Germany I first want to graduate and later to study here. But I will surely never forget about that year in the USA. I am coming to an end with this letter now. I hope you got an impression about me by reading this. I just want to say thank you once more for the chance to fulfill my dream and spend a year in the USA. I am really looking forward to that.

Yours Julius

Hi!
