Hostfamily letter

Was soll ich weglassen? Was fehlt noch?

Dear Hostfamily,
I´m a 16 year old girl from Germany. I live with my family consisting of my parents and my younger sister in a small village. We own a house with a garden and a pound for swimming in the summer. We have got two little dogs which just love playing soccer with me or my sister in the garden.
To describe myself is difficult so I asked my friends how they would describe me. My friends said that I´m a humorous person. I think that´s true. When I meet my friends we can laugh a lot and have a lot of fun always. They also said that I´m responsible, honest, smart and ambitious. My motto is: Life isn´t about waiting for the storm to pass, it`s about learning to dance in the rain. That’s why I always try to see the positive and smile.
I am looking forward to my year abroad in the USA because I´m very interested in the culture and history and just want to experience how it is to live one year in different political system ,a different culture and a different school system. I would like to meet new people and would like to learn a lot in this year. I like to listen to the English language and would like to speak it better. I want to become a teacher for English and History so a year in the US is a good chance to meet new people, to get to know a new culture and to learn the language better.
I like to go to school because I can see my friends there every day. My favourite subjects are English, History, politics and German. From Monday till Friday I am in the school until late in the afternoon and go to different clubs or have lessons for example P.E , Geography, Math, Chemistry and writing for the school newspaper. I like to write articels for the school newspaper and correct the articels from the younger students . I´m one of the oldest there. At the weekend I play Basketball in a team. We are not the best we play only for fun and that is the main thing about it. I bring the newspaper around and spend time with my family. We like to walk with the dogs or play cards and board games. What I also enjoy during the weekend is to watch movies. My family, my friends and I especially like to watch comedian and romantic movies.
Often I play guitar and sing at home or sing in a big choir which makes a lot of fun. I like to listen to pop and piano music and I am dancing to all kinds in a group. During the year we have shows and sing in front of an audience which always is an incredible feeling. Along with music another hobby is sport. I like to play for example Basketball or go inline skating. I really enjoy to listen to music while I am skating and I am very interested in learning some new sport activities during my year abroad. I want to try something new.
For the moment that´s all from me but I am looking forward to hear from you. Thanks for reading my Letter.

Hallo!

Marie-Claire

I would like to meet new people and learn a lot during this year. I like to listen to the English language and would like to improve my English. I want to become a teacher for English and history, so staying in the US for one year is a good chance to meet new people, experience a foreign culture and improve my language skills.

From Monday till Friday I am at school until late afternoon and attend various clubs or have lessons (for example P.E, geography, maths and chemistry). I also like to write texts for our school magazine and correct texts from younger students as I´m one of the oldest ones. At the weekend I like to go inline skating and play basketball in a team. We do not attend any competitions, we only play for fun. I also deliver newspapers and enjoy spending time with my family. We like to walk the dogs or play cards and board games.
