Host family letter

Hey,
das ist mein host family letter… wenn ihr möchtet, könnt ihr den ja noch berichtigen und euern Senf dazu geben, wäre echt lieb!

Dear host family!
My name is Luisa and I would like to go to the US for one year.
At first I want to thank you that you take time for me and my letter.
I am already looking forward to the year in another country, so I am dreaming very much about it!
I think about thousand questions like: How would it be, to live with my host family and to go to an American school?
In the next lines I like to tell you something about me, my family, my everyday life and my wishes.
I am 15 years old and come from a little village in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, which is in the northern east of Germany.
I have two brothers (20 and 19 years old), who do not live at home anymore.
My father is an agriculturist so I sort of live on a farm. But we do not have any animals, only one cat.
Adrian, my oldest brother, finishes his internship as an agriculturist this year.
Viktor, my younger brother, is doing an internship as an agriculturist, too.
My mother is an insurance agent and she has her agency at home.
We are a great family and a good team. Certainly we have sometimes dissensions, like in every family!
So, now to me! I am full of the joys of life, self-assured, down-to-earth and helpful and I get involved in my home commune. The village, which I live in, is very active and there is always something going on!
Since 6 years I am in the junior fire department and I am directing a Florian-Group. This is a project by the fire brigade. Together with my best friend I teach little children between six and ten years in a playful way about fire, the risks and what they have to do in the case of an accident for example. It takes place round two times in a month since three years. I enjoy teaching the children and to see how happy they are when they have learned something.
I am a student of a secondary school close by and visist the 10th grade. I want to get my “Abitur” which is like A-Levels or high school graduation and afterwards maybe study insurances or psychology, but I am not sure yet.
When I come home from school in the evening, the first thing I do is taking the dog from friends for a walk. I have to look after Benny, the dog, since more than three years. Afterwards, I do my homework and then, if I have still a bit of time, I help my parents, mow the lawn, clean a room or things like this or spend time with my friends. Preferably we cycle, do inline-skating, swim, go to the cinema or do many other activities. We are never bored!
It is not difficult for me, to meet new people and I like travelling. So I got the idea to make a student exchange year in the US.
All I am hoping is, to get new experiences, to improve my English, to get in touch with the “American way of life” and to get to know a new culture.
It is important for me to have a good relationship with my host family, so that we feel good together and we all have great months and can enjoy our time.
Maybe we can get to know us personally in the near future.
Best wishes
Dear host family,
As her parents, we like to thank you, for your willingness to show our daughter the life in the USA.
We are awake that you take a big duty and for this courage we thank you beforehand.
Our daughter, Luisa, is a bright and agreed girl. She can be in charge and is used to get little exercises in the housekeeping. In our family we care about each other and live in harmony.
Luisa’s wish to live a year in another family occupies ourselves very much. We share her happiness that she is willing and serious about getting a new orientation. Furthermore we wish, that she lives in a family that feels comfortable with her and accepts her as their guest-daughter.
In the hope that the time for you as a host family with Luisa will be unforgettable, we remain with kindly regards!

Das wars…

We are a great family :heart:besser: I love my family/I am glad to have a family like that (great hört sich vllt. ein bissche überheblich an.)and a good team. Certainly we have sometimes dissensions, like in every family!

They are very important for me/We can talk about problems…)
Best wishes from me as well,
Jana
