Gastfamlienbrief - Meinungen bitte!

Hallöchen… ich wäre euch echt dankbar, wenn ihr euch kurz die Zeit nehmen könntet, mein Brieflein zu bewerten

Dear future host family!

First off: I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time to read my letter, even if we might not match.

My name is B. and with this letter I would like to introduce myself. I am currently x years old.

I live in Germany, or to be more precise, in x, which is a small town in the Ruhr district. By small, I mean really really really small compared to Chinese cities – we only have about x inhabitants. Currently, I go to school at x where I will graduate from in x. I am in grade eleven (out of twelve) and am looking forward to receive my Abitur then, which is the highest possible form of graduation one can accomplish in Germany without studying at University. My focus lies on English, as I have had bilingual lessons from grade five on, and Pedagogics.
However, I am still living with my parents. My father x is x and my mother x is x years old. I also have a little brother named x who I love a lot. We live in a small house in the suburbs of our town together with our pets. Talking about them, we have two dogs, various kinds of birds, and two horses which my mother cares for.

In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball and guitar a lot. Also, I am fond of drawing and I have a small job where I work once a week to increase my amount of pocket money. In the spare time I have left, I like to meet with my friends, as long as I am not too busy studying for school.

Since eighth grade, it has been my dream to go abroad for some time. This is why I also did a student exchange with a Polish school for a week – but nowadays, I aim for a longer time away from home.

What tempts me most when it comes to China is the opportunity to dive into a completely foreign culture, enabling one to meet new people and learn about their culture, way of living, and their philosophy of life. Additionally, I am very eager to learn a new language as I do not speak any Chinese at the moment. I imagine China to be a beautiful country with many facets, even despite the fact that I have never visited it in person. In my opinion, a cultural exchange is a wonderful thing to experience.

I am sincerely looking forward to get to know you more, now that you know me (or at least know the tip of the iceberg :stuck_out_tongue: )!

With best regards
B.
