Ein weiterer Host Family Letter ;)

Hi Leute währe nett wenn sich den wer durchlesen könnte und korrigieren könnte bzw. schauen könnte ob dieser passt =)

Dear host family,
first of all I want to thank you for giving me the opportunity to spend a year in the USA with you and to be a part of your family. With this letter I want to give you an impression of my personality and want to introduce myself, my family, the place were I live and much more.
My name is Roland, I’m sixteen years old and live in Austria in one of the bigger cities of Austria.
My Hometown has about 60.000 inhabitants and is located in Upper Austria. In my opinion my Hometown is a pretty normal Austrian town, we have a public pool, a lot of sport clubs and, of course, a lot of schools too.
I live in a two family house with my mother called Emese, my sister called Patricia and my cat called Juna, since mother and father are divorced. My mother works as a surgical nurse and my father as a control engineer. My sister is 18 years old and goes to a school which is similar to a grammar school. Beneath my older sister I have a younger half-brother too, which is 9 years old now. My younger half-brother visits the elementary school near his village. Because my mother and father are divorced, I only see my father and my half-brother about every second weekend. Since my parents are from Hungary, we often travel there to visit our relatives.
I also want to tell you about the responsibilities I have in our house. I have to carry out the garbage every time when it is full and have to vacuum the house sometimes. I also have to clean up my room of course. In the winter I also shovel the snow in front of our house. I have to clean up the litter of my cat and give her to eat too.
On the weekends, when I’m with my father, we sometimes play tennis in the summer, or go skiing or snowboarding in the winter. But on weekends when I’m with my mother, I go out and have fun with my friends most time. On Friday nights we often go out in pubs or clubs. On Saturdays and Sundays, we do a lot of various things, like play basketball in summer, or go swimming in the public pool in our town, go watch a movie in the cinema, or just have fun playing the computer and many other things.
Since my school is only about 4 miles away from me, it is possible for me to reach it with my bike in about 15 minutes. The school I visit is a so called HTL. It is a vocational School and my main focus at this school is the information technology. My school has about 1500 students and 140 teachers. It has also 4 other main focuses, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mechatronics and chemical engineering. So, as you can see, it is a technical school. My favorite subject in school is programming, because I think you can be very creative in this subject, because there are a lot of solutions for the same problem.
In the school I’m work in a project called Peers. It is a drug prevention project in which we do many things, like hold lectures for our schoolmates, or organize basketball tournaments, like we did last year. I’m also a head of the acolytes in my church. We have a meeting every Friday with the acolytes, where we discuss the following week and play games with the kids.
In my free time I love to play the piano and e-guitar. Every Monday I have my piano lesson, which I visit now for many years. To play the e-guitar I have learned by myself. I’m not a very sporty person, but I love to go snowboarding and skiing in the winter, and play some basketball and tennis with friends in summer. I also listen music the most time when I am at home. I prefer listen to things like rock and metal, but I also enjoy other things like reggae or sometimes classic too, because I play the piano.
My friends describe me as a person who is funny, open-minded, confident, helpful and happy the most time. But they also say that I’m a bit too emotional, what means that I sometimes react too temperamental, what I mostly just realize and regret later. They also say that I’m a bit untidy sometimes. That don’t means that my room is always a mess, I usually try to keep it clean, but I could clean it up more often.
After I finished the HTL in Austria I want to go to a university, but I don’t really know what I want to study, but I think I have enough time to decide this, since I have to go to school two more years after I come back from the USA. But although I choose the main focus if informatics in school, I don’t think I’m going to continue this branch as my job.
Now as the last part of the letter, I want to tell you why I want to be an exchange student. The reason why I want to be an exchange student, is because I am interested to learn about another culture. I also want to see how it is to be on an American school and experience the American school spirit, about I heard a lot. I am also interested in the way of you celebrate your feasts and a lot of more things.
Can’t wait to meet you soon in the USA!
Yours sincerely,
Roland

Huch noch aufgefallen
In the school I’m work in a project called Peers. das 'm gehört da natürlich weg ^^

Hey!
