Attending College in California - looking for a Hostfamily

Good evening everyone,

I would love to go to college in California. Having spent my senior year of high school (c/o 07) as an exchange student ignited my love for the USA. I’ve had a great time with my hostfamily in Alabama, introducing me to the „american way of life“. This year, I graduated from school in Germany and our senior trip was headed - naturally - to the USA. We travelled all across the country, the final stations were San Diego and L.A. Those towns were the best I’ve ever seen, I immediately thought of going to a college if there was any possibility. The biggest issues are the - compared to Germany’s - high admission fees and living costs. I sure would be willing to work, but its about impossible to afford both college and living on campus. Since i’ve experienced the best year of my life so far in an american host-family, i would also love to stay with an american family through a semester of college or so. Are there any nice, hospitable families out there in Cali that would offer a housing for me? I would truly apreciate it. Of course i dont expect to pay nothing for my accommodation - just not $10,000/Year.
Thank you for your time and consideration.

P.s.: If theres anything you would like to know about me - I would be glad to send you an email with pictures and a more detailed description of myself

Well I live in el centro 1 1/2 hres from San diego.
What College are you looking for? I live close to a community College where fees probably are around 80 something dollars a unit you can check it out www.imperial.edu
Also San Diego State University has a Campus 20 min from here. But Universities are more expensive unless u get a scholarship. Would you go with an organisation or how would you get a visa.
Im pretty sure I would be able to host you for a while I have 2 free bedrooms till you found something that suits you better like a WG or something.j9
